Madagascan Vanilla Pods are world renowned and perceived as the best vanilla pods in the world. And this is no coincidence! A combination of a perfect climate, soil conditions and diligent farmers means that the produce is of the highest standards.
This is the second most expensive spice in the world due to the amount of time it takes to produce the pods we recognise, from the fruit that is picked on the tree. See the Story of Vanilla section for more details. We only buy the best quality pods available, all of which are AAA grade which guarantees a good vanillin content. We then categorise them into groups based on their size/moisture content and their Organic and Fairtrade classification.
Subject to availability the following categories of pods are available from us:
- Essential - High quality pods which are less than 15cm in length
- Gourmet - High quality pods measuring 15-17cm in length
- Premium - Premium quality pods measuring 17cm+ in length
- Supreme - Organic and Fairtrade pods measuring 15cm+ in length
